As Martin Luthor King Jnr said “you don’t have to see the whole staircase just take the first step.” If you are reading this then it sounds like you have taken the first brave step.
Choosing a counsellor can be a daunting task and it takes courage to reach out. I believe that counselling isn’t something that is done to you, but a process that is collaborative and personal to you. This is why it’s important that you and your counsellor are a “good fit” and why I start by offering a free 20-30 minute consultation.
I am an Integrative counsellor which means i am trained in the use of CBT, Person Centred, TA and Gestalt. What all this means to you is that i have the tools to support you in a way that works best for you. Using a holistic approach of mind, body and spirit we can explore and uncover any underlying causes which promotes deeper healing.
I love being outdoors and using nature to help us heal our minds and bodies. walking side by side can feel less formal and give space for movement and a sense of freedom. Time outdoors is proven to help reduce anxiety and stress, with me walking beside you, we can take the first “step” to healing.
By listening to you in a deep, caring and non-judgemental way, i will ensure that our relationship will support you to fully express and engage with your difficult emotions. I hope you will discover, through my gentle guidance and thoughtful questions, much more clarity in your thinking and develop options on what you need to do to heal.
We can often feel alone, judged or that no one can understand what we are going through when our mental health is suffering. I will walk alongside you and build a trusting and open relationship where you are the focus. Together we can untangle emotions and thoughts and shine a light on the shadows.
