Daoyin Tao - Overview
Pronounced DOW YIN TOW is a form of Chinese Face, Neck and Shoulder Massage. The therapy combines the Oriental and Western philosophies toward health, healing and well-being in a way that forms the basis of this therapy. The original skills that have been adapted for this therapy are still practised today in clinics and hospitals throughout China. It is a powerful blend of Chinese and Western massage techniques. Daoyin Tao works deeply releasing trapped and stagnant energy allowing the body to heal itself from within on all levels.

A typical session
The initial sessions is usually one hour long and starts with a consultation to design an individual treatment for you. Further sessions are around 30 minutes treatment time with quiet time after. You will lie on a couch with your neck and shoulders accessible for the massage but covered with a towel. Jewellery is removed and your head supported. A light oil may be used for the massage. You will be encouraged to drink water after the session to help with any detoxifying and will be asked to avoid caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours to allow your body time to balance.
Cost / Number of sessions Maximum benefit is usually gained from three to four sessions received on a weekly basis. Thereafter monthly maintenance sessions are ideal as a preventative healthcare.
