National Back Pain Project - June 2007The 2007 back pain project is now complete. More than 50 local clients took advantage of the offer. Thanks to all those clients who took part. (Sorry, the 3 for 2 back pain offer is finshed) There will be another project in 2008. Here is the information about the 2007 back pain project: If you suffer from back pain of any description and have never experienced Bowen Treatment before why not sign up for 3 treatments. Members of BTER agreed to collect data from clients during June (with their permission) and as a way of saying thank you for helping, clients have been offered a 3 for 2 treatment programme. However due to amazing demand, Freda has now allocated all the study places so the offer is now closed. We would like to thank everyone who has agreed to take part in the study. BTER (Bowen Therapist European Register) - www.bter.org Press Release Back pain sufferers in Cumbria will soon have a special chance to experience a therapy that’s so effective that in a recent survey 95 per cent of people trying it showed significant improvement! It’s a gentle, drug free, non-invasive complementary therapy called Bowen Technique. In June, local therapist Freda Hodgson who holds a clinic at Cumbria Therapies, 24 Norfolk Rd, Carlisle, is taking part in a further nationwide survey organised by BTER, the main registering body for Bowen practitioners. The survey follows pilot research by a small group of therapists last year which showed that nearly every sufferer experienced either complete relief or a marked improvement after a series of no more than three treatments. Freda is looking for local people with back problems who have never experienced the Bowen Technique, to try the therapy. Special rates for a course of three treatments are being offered in June. As well as experiencing the benefits of the therapy, participants will be invited to contribute to the national project by helping Freda to record the nature and effects of their treatment. “Nearly every Bowen therapist can point to examples of the relief that the technique has provided for people affected by back pain, sometimes with a significant effect on their lives” explained Freda: “We believe that there are potentially thousands more people whom it could help, if only they knew about it. This project will be used to promote awareness nationally.” The Bowen Technique is a gentle, natural, non-invasive therapy. The therapist, using only thumbs and fingers, makes gentle rolling movements over muscles and tendons at precise points. The process releases energy, sending impulses to the brain to trigger the body’s own healing systems. The Technique has a remarkable record of success in alleviating back pain – often when no other treatment has provided significant relief. Bowen has helped many people to lead more active lives and reduce their reliance on drugs – and even to return to work, sometimes after a lengthy absence. Apart from back pain Bowen has a very broad spectrum of application, including chronic asthma, frozen shoulder, whiplash, migraine, tennis/golfers elbow, IBS and a host of other health issues. Freda can be contacted at Cumbria Therapies on 01228 409093. More information about the Bowen Technique can be found on our Bowen Technique page or on the BTER (Bowen Therapist European Register) Website - www.bter.org
